Two wrestlers grappling body to body, midnight-blue and ochre silhouettes on a landscape of yellow dunes. The largest of the six textile pieces on show, and the sparest: two colours for the bodies, one for the ground. Khayamiya, the hand-sewn appliqué of Cairo's tentmakers, meets West African bazins here; the stitching that outlines each shape draws, on its own, the tension between the two figures.
