Woven rattan bust, dark brown, with matching rosettes sewn onto the torso and a tassel, set on a base sheathed in cognac leather. The darkest of the three Rattan Bodies, where the embroidery melts into the rattan rather than standing out from it. Like the other two, the piece comes from a dialogue between Louis Barthélemy and a cooperative of women artisans in Morocco: traditional basketry that raffia embroidery carries from everyday object to sculpture.
